Appearance

The good captain casts an impressive shadow, standing six foot two inches, tall for a man of his time. His arms are thick and hardened like steel cables, his shoulders broad and rounded into a wide set torso that tapers down to a thin waist and narrow hips. His body has been tempered by a life at sea since the age of ten, working his way up from a powder monkey to now a captain. It has been years since he has seen his own reflection but, from what he can recall, he was not ugly (at least not in his opinion). He could clearly recall the shock of thick, wavy ebony hair that fell far below his shoulders, the darkened copper hued tones of his flesh that even now, after his rebirth has paled him, were darker than most. What he remembers most are his eyes, eyes that hold on to so many memories, giving a haunted look to the green that matches the fields of his youth in the land of Eire.

Identifying features

Being a sailor, Stephen has acquired a number of tattoos:

• Crosses on the souls of his feet
• A pig on one ankle and a rooster on the other
• ”Hold Fast” across his knuckles
• A sparrow on the right of his chest
• The southern cross on the left of his chest
• A dragon on his right upper arm
• A fully rigged ship on his back
• On his forearm, a Celtic cross that has names of family members worked into the knot work

The most notable scar he has is the one around his neck from a failed hanging attempt.

Inventory and Equipment

Stephen has several treasured items usually on his person:

• A locket, which holds a picture of Annie, his first wife, and a lock of hair from his first child, Erin.
• A Claddagh ring on his left hand with the heart facing in, indicating his marriage to Jewell Ravenlock Kidd
• A ring with a setting of connemarra marble
• A coin from the first ship he plundered

Weapons

Stephen usually wields his two flintlock pistols as well as a broadsword.

Dress

Stephen dresses like a pirate: knee length breeches, a captain’s frock coats, and knee-high boots. He does not wear a lot of leather because that is stupid on the open sea. Although he dresses like a pirate, his dress his often meticulously ordered, clean, neat. Stephen can be very fashion conscious.
